House Keeping : Our villas are extremely well stocked with an abundant supply of towels, blankets and extra bed linens. There is plenty of inventory to suffice for several days. At an additional cost you may request a mid-week service or a light daily hotel-style housekeeping service with advance notice and subject to availability. Other additional services may be requested in advance at an additional cost. Personal laundry service is excluded. Within the villa there is a laundry area with a washer/dryer, laundry supplies, iron and board. $35 plus GE tax per hour per person with a 2 hour minimum. Advance notice is requested.

Fireplace : No

Climate Control : No central air conditioning, however there are ceiling fans, wall mounted air conditioners, portable air conditioners, and portable floor fans. There is one strong wall mounted air conditioning unit in each bedroom, one large and powerful wall-mount unit in the living room, and one additional portable unit in the living room. When not using the air conditioning, there are often very pleasant breezes that sweep down from the mountain towards the sea, and if the windows on both sides are left open the living area stays fairly comfortable. The portable unit is provided as an alternative to the natural trade wind breezes, in the event it is unseasonably humid or warm, or there are not breezes to provide better cooling. There are also several ceiling fans for additional cooling.

Disclosure : IMPORTANT: Construction of a new home has commenced on a vacant lot which is near the Wailea Sunset Bungalow. One other large house on a one acre strip separates the Bungalow from the construction site. Therefore, we are advising customers that construction activity could possibly be visible or audible at any time without advance notice. Our current rates reflect considerable consideration for any possible inconvenience. This construction project could continue into 2010.

The Wailea Sunset Bungalow is a vintage cottage with charming nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of Hawai`i of yesteryear. Choose the Wailea Sunset Bungalow and experience seaside living as it was before the introduction of mega-mansions to our tropical island paradise. This is not new construction. We make every effort to provide comfortable furniture, abundant electronics, and useful amenities such as the hot tub, air conditioning, a hammock, and a well equipped kitchen.

The grass lawns surrounding the property are trimmed and mowed with a motorized machine once each week, usually on Saturday morning. The mower may be audible. You may wish to plan outdoor activities for the grass lawn on any day other than Saturday morning.

Another private home known as the Wailea Sunset Estate is immediately adjacent to the Wailea Sunset Bungalow. The two dwellings are in close proximity to one another and we cannot say they are exclusively private from each other. A modest amount of landscaping will provide some separation. Guests of the Bungalow do not have use of the pool or spa at the Estate. They are separate properties rented to separate guests.

Entrance to the ocean immediately in front of the Bungalow is decorated mostly with small pebbles. It may be most comfortable to use foot protection when entering the water.

Over towards the Polo Beach area an off-shore undertow has been reported a few times in the past. Always swim with a buddy and never turn your back to the ocean. Guests agree to use caution and common sense and to always enter the ocean when the conditions are calm, and to enjoy all sports and activities at their own risk.
